FIAP Service Distinctions

FIAP Service Distinctions are awarded for services rendered to those who have

contributed to the progress of FIAP. These Distinctions are decided by the FIAP Board and include:

• Excellence for Services Rendered to FIAP: ESFIAP
• Honorary Excellence FIAP: HonEFIAP
• Lifetime Achievement Award: LAAFIAP
• Honorable Member HMFIAP

The ESFIAP Distinction

• The distinction "Excellence for Services Rendered" (ESFIAP) is awarded to those persons who have given exceptional service over a long period at an international level for the benefit of FIAP.
• Holders of photographic distinctions may also be nominated for the ESFIAP distinction if they fulfil the criteria.
• Judges of salons organized under FIAP patronage are granted the ESFIAP distinction after they have successfully judged a total of 30 salons.
• Organizing FIAP salons is not sufficient for earning this distinction.
• Applications for the ESFIAP distinction must include a completed dossier with a curriculum vitae and a detailed description of the services rendered by the candidate. The application should be made with the form prescribed by FIAP. The text must be written in one of the official FIAP languages. A scan of page A, signed by the responsible of the federation, must be sent by email to the FIAP Distinctions Service (fiapdistinctions@gmail.com).
• The applications for the ESFIAP distinction are handled free of charge.
• The applications for the ESFIAP distinction are examined by the FIAP Board.
• When the ESFIAP distinction is awarded, the candidate will receive a certificate and a pin with a black enamel.

The HonEFIAP Distinction

• The HonEFIAP distinction is awarded by the FIAP Board of Directors. A unanimous vote of the members of this Board is required. The candidate must be holder of the ESFIAP distinction.
• The HonEFIAP distinction is awarded by FIAP to individuals who have made exceptionally significant and long-lasting contributions to the development, promotion, and prestige of FIAP worldwide.
• This title is reserved for those whose unwavering dedication, outstanding service, and visionary efforts have had a profound and enduring impact on the international photographic community and the advancement of FIAP’s mission over many years.
• The application for a HonEFIAP distinction should include a complete curriculum vitae and a full description of the services that justify the candidacy. A form prescribed by FIAP should be used. A scan of page A, signed by the one responsible for the federation, should be sent to the FIAP Distinction Service by electronic mail (fiapdistinctions@gmail.com).
• Applications for the HonEFIAP distinction are handled free of charge.
• When the HonEFIAP distinction is awarded, the candidate will receive a certificate and a pin with white enamel.

The Lifetime Achievement Award

• This award aims to honor all individuals who have distinguished themselves in an exceptional way through their constant dedication and persistent efforts, and who have devoted a significant part of their lives to FIAP and the overall development of artistic photography.
• This distinction cannot be requested and falls directly under the responsibility of the FIAP Board of Directors. A unanimous vote of the members of the Board is required. The candidate must be holder of the HonEFIAP distinction.
• Upon receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, the recipient will be provided with a certificate, a medal and an ornamental needle.

The Honorable Member

• This honorary title is reserved for individuals who are not members of FIAP but who have rendered outstanding services or significant support to the Federation. Recipients may include government representatives, cultural promoters, renowned photographers, or other persons who have contributed exceptionally to the development or visibility of FIAP’s mission and values.
• This distinction is purely honorary, granted in exceptional circumstances, and does not entail any rights, privileges, or affiliation with FIAP membership. It is not subject to application and should not be considered part of the official system of distinctions awarded to FIAP members.
• This distinction cannot be requested and falls directly under the responsibility of the FIAP Board of Directors. A unanimous vote of the members of the Board is required.
• Upon receiving the honorable membership, the recipient will be provided with a certificate and a medal. 

Individuals who have been awarded a FIAP Service Distinction and are not yet registered on the myfiap.net platform will receive a complimentary FIAP Life Card if they agree to create a profile on the platform.
