FIAP grants patronage to an international salon of photography that meets the FIAP
standards and regulations. FIAP medals and ribbons are awarded in these salons, and acceptances and awards count towards FIAP & PAA distinctions.
USA organizations hosting a salon that are considering applying for FIAP patronage must first apply for PAA Patronage. If applying for PSA Recognition, that should be done first. The organization hosting the salon and the salon Chair must be a PAA member.
The Chair is responsible for all aspects of organizing the salon, from applying for
patronage to submitting the final reports. The Chair must ensure that the salon is
conducted according to PAA & FIAP regulations and as stated in the Conditions of Entry. This includes regularly checking the FIAP Red List, supervising the judging, and assuring accuracy and timeliness. The Chair cannot judge and must actively conduct the salon, not be a Chair in name only.
All applications for FIAP patronage must be submitted via the online FIAP
Patronage Platform. The FIAP Liaison Officer for the USA receives notification of a patronage application submission and sends approval of the application to the FIAP Director of Patronage Service via the FIAP Platform.
The fee for PAA Patronage is $50. This non-refundable amount is paid with the online application. Following approval, the $20 fee for each PAA Gold Medal, one per section, is paid, and the medals will be mailed to the USA address listed on the application form.
PLAQUETTES: FIAP may make long-service Plaquette Awards to the organizers of
patronage events.
